Judgement!

I feel your eyes
Your stares
Your judgement
I hear your whispers
Your disgust
Your judgement
This mother, this woman
How dare she invade public space with her “unruly” child?

Sit up and listen
Open your eyes and see
She is a mother of love
A woman of strength
Her child, her pride, her hope, her faith

Your stares, your words
Your judgement I say
Has no place in her angel’s face
They are unique, definitely not freaks
Watch your tone, watch your expression
Before I step up and teach you a life lesson!

She is a mother of love
A woman of strength
Her child, her pride, her hope, her faith

Your stares, your words
Your judgement I say
Has no place in her angel’s face
Her carefree nature, abundance of energy
Her unintelligable speech, this mother’s joy, this mother’s heart

Sit up and listen
Open your eyes and see
She is a mother of love
A woman of strength
Her child, her pride, her hope, her faith

Your stares, your words
Your judgement I say
Has no place in her angel’s face
This child has brushed deaths doorstep
She’s found her voice through her mother’s ears
She can climb like a monkey
And run like no other 5 year old I know

Sit up and listen
Open your eyes and see
This mother is a survivor
She exudes patience and resilience

You who sit there in judgement
Open your eyes and see
Sit up and listen
Show some tolerance
Extend some kindness and empathy
What you see is a blessing
The gentle hand and soft voice
A special mother for a very special child

Sit up and listen
Open your eyes and see
She is a mother of love
A woman of strength
Her child, her pride, her hope, her faith

For my friend Jonene, blessing to her 5 year old deaf daughter who also has ADHD and her gentlemanly 10 year old who has ADD.
