Welcome to my blog!
A peek into my life as a mother to an awesome son, who through his life, has guided me to parent for him, and not what others expect parenting to be. Together, our adventure includes the rollercoaster of learning to understand hearing loss and Aspergers with sprinkles of love, hope, faith, laughter, gratitude and acceptance.

Here I also share with you the humour of learning to surf, juggling part-time studies, and the epic adventure of my  LIFE, which is a bit mundane at times!

I also founded an initiative, Decibles of Love, parent support for kids with hearing loss in 2014. This is living one of my passions; parent empowerment and the holistic development of children and their families.

My life journey has seen hardship, poverty, abuse, destruction, loss, heartache, addiction and the resilience of the human spirit to triumph and source strength from its weakest and most vulnerable moments – some of this reflects in my blogs.

Creative writing is another great passion of mine, and every once in a while you may come across a fictional post!

Some “interesting” facts about me:

• I absofreakinlutely dislike ants, also known as myrmecophobia (fear of ants…)
• I can’t stand the sound of people chewing in my ears (possibly sensory processing disorder…who knows…)
• I am a bit obsessive compulsive when in my own space…everything has its place.
