Welcome to my blog!
A peek into my life as a mother to an awesome son, who through his life, has guided me to parent for him, and not what others expect parenting to be. Together, our adventure includes the rollercoaster of learning to understand hearing loss and Aspergers with sprinkles of love, hope, faith, laughter, gratitude and acceptance.
Here I also share with you the humour of learning to surf, juggling part-time studies, and the epic adventure of my LIFE, which is a bit mundane at times!
I also founded an initiative, Decibles of Love, parent support for kids with hearing loss in 2014. This is living one of my passions; parent empowerment and the holistic development of children and their families.
My life journey has seen hardship, poverty, abuse, destruction, loss, heartache, addiction and the resilience of the human spirit to triumph and source strength from its weakest and most vulnerable moments – some of this reflects in my blogs.
Creative writing is another great passion of mine, and every once in a while you may come across a fictional post!

Brave lass!!
I’m not sure how old your son is, but I’ve been in your shoes.
I think that I read somewhere that your dad has issues also – perhaps you were more prepared than I was.
If I’m not overstepping boundaries, let me know if I can help (sometimes help involves laughing over a cup of coffee with a kindred spirit 😉 )
Kind best wishes for a 2015 better than you could have dreamed of xx

Hi!
Your blog seems to be inactive “page not found”? Do you have hearing loss/a child with hearing loss/are you a parent, etc. I’d like to read your blog?
Anything is possible, if you live in the South then a coffee and some laughs may just be a possibility 😉
Have an awesome 2015!

Hi Natashia,
Sorry to hear that you having trouble with your hearing aid, may need to be adjusted.
Contact the Deaf and Hearing Impaired Association, 021 448 2510 or deafclub@mweb.co.za – I forget the audiologist name, but this is where my dad went to a few years ago and it didn’t cost much. They work with adults.
All the best and do let me know if they were able to assist.
